I'm a total Apple addict, as you might tell.

iPod Shuffle Charger

I picked up an iPod Shuffle the other day. It comes with a dock, but I need another one to keep at work.

I copied Apple’s design and drafted a model using Google SketchUp. All I had to do was get my hands on a 4-pole headphone jack.

The problem is, I can’t find one anywhere. Ordering one online defeats the purpose when the cost of buying one with shipping exceeds the price of just buying another charger. I managed to find one headphone adaptor at Radio Shack that was $10. Again, totally not worth it. The whole point was to take a cheap cable for a buck and turn it into a useful Shuffle charger.

Needless to say, I ended up just buying a new charger. It was only $20. No messy cables. It looks like a thumb drive. The Shuffle pops right in and I’m good to go. It’s small enough I can just keep in my desk drawer, as opposed to a dock that would sit on top of my desk and just get stolen.

Here it is, the USB Travel Dock for the iPod Shuffle by MARWARE.
