MacPaint in the Box

I’ve been looking for one of these for a long time. I finally scored one without breaking the bank. $50 isn’t too bad of a price for such a gem. I tried to score MacWrite as well, but that puppy went for over $100. Too much.

The copyright date on the manual is 1983, while the disk labels are dated 1985.

The box is in great shape for it’s age, as well as the disks. They do show the classic signs of the glue soaking through the label, but no where near close to the worst that I’ve seen.

Overall, very well kept for a 25-year old box of software.

It’s strange how there’s 2 disks. Isn’t MacPaint about 60K? Why the two disks? I threw them in my Mac Plus and sure enough, both disks are identical. They are both 400K disks with a System folder and MacPaint 1.5. I guess back in the day, they threw you a backup.
